African day event was conducted between the 20th and 21st of November in Kyotango forest Park Swiss Village. The event was part of the academic research training.

The objective of the event was:

1. Improve awareness on African culture among Japanese community.
2. Identify key abilities in women led Japanese organizations that can be copied by African women.
3. To collected participants' impressions about the African day event through a questionnaire.

The event has ended successfully with 23 participants, among them Japanese as well as foreigners:

1. African Food Exhibition

Explanation to the participants was made, about the names of each dish and the ingredients.

 

2. African Movie and song

After watching the movie, the student showed the participants how to dance some African songs. Participants were very impressed. It was a moment of great happiness and relaxation for everyone.

3. African Art Exhibition

There was also an exhibition of some African Items and the participants were impressed by the African talent in making handmade using natural resources such as wood, straw, beads, and so on.

4. African Culture presentation

A presentation about African culture was made by a student showing the connection between culture and SDGs. She also talked about her interest in working for women's social activity in Mozambique to achieve gender Equality.

5. African traditional cloth (capulana)

Capulana can be worn by women and men.  During the event, the participants have tested and enjoyed a different look of your daily.

Student Impression

The experience in organizing and managing the event was a unique and good opportunity. The student faced some challenges for being the first-time leader of event. But the teamwork was important for the event to be held successfully.

I realized through this event that I have leadership skills and vocation. I can now think about how this experience can be useful for my country in creating a women's association where some business activities will be carried out.

These activities can generate income for the living improvement of many families and women can become independent and empowered.

I want to express my gratitude to my supervisor Asari Sensei, Agelle corporation, Swiss Village and Embassy of Mozambique in Japan for all kinds of support given to the student.

The presentation was clear, smooth, and friendly. The translation to Japanese language was possible the participant to understand the message. And Food test and explanation was good.

2021年11月20日～21日、京丹後市森林公園スイス村にて、アフリカンデーイベントを実施しました。このイベントは、学術研究研修の一環として行われたものです。

このイベントの目的は以下の3つです。
1. 日本人コミュニティーのアフリカ文化に対する認識を高める。
2. 女性が率いる日本の組織で、アフリカの女性が真似できる主な能力を明らかにする。
3.アンケートを通じて、アフリカンデーイベントに対する参加者の感想を収集する。

当日は、おかげさまで日本人、外国人あわせて23名が参加し、盛況のうちに終了しました。

1. アフリカンフード展示

参加者に各料理の名前と食材の説明を行いました。

2. アフリカの映画と歌
映画を観た後、学生がアフリカの歌を踊って見せました。参加者はとても感動していました。参加者の皆さんも大喜びで、リラックスしたひとときでした。

3. アフリカンアート展
また、アフリカンアイテムの展示も行われ、木や藁、ビーズなどの天然資源を使って手作業をするアフリカの人の才能に参加者は感心していました。

4. アフリカ文化紹介
学生によるアフリカ文化に関するプレゼンテーションが行われ、文化とSDGsとの関連性が示されました。また、モザンビークでジェンダー平等を実現するための女性の社会活動に興味があることを話してくれました。

5. アフリカの伝統的な布(カプラナ)
カプラナは女性も男性も着ることができます。 イベント期間中、参加者の皆さんは普段とは違う自分の姿を試し、楽しんでいました。

●学生の感想
・イベントの企画、運営を経験できたことは、他にはない良い機会でした。初めてのイベントリーダーとして、学生はいくつかの課題に直面しました。しかし、イベントを成功させるためには、チームワークが重要です。
・このイベントを通して、自分にはリーダーシップがあること、天職であることに気づきました。この経験を活かして、母国に女性協会を作り、そこでビジネス活動を行うことも考えています。
・これらの活動で、多くの家庭の生活向上のための収入を生み出し、女性は自立し、力を得ることができます。指導してくださった浅利先生、エーゲル社、スイス村、在日モザンビーク大使館の皆様に感謝いたします。

●参加者の感想
プレゼンが分かりやすく、スムーズで、親切でした。日本語に翻訳してくれたので、参加者はメッセージを理解することができました。また、食品検査や説明もよかったです。
