ごみゼロアプリで街をきれいに！

ベストプラクティスとは、世界の重要な課題を解決する良質なプロジェクトを発信するプログラムです。大阪・関西万博では、テーマである「いのち輝く未来社会のデザイン」を体現するプロジェクトが選ばれ、万博会場内のベストプラクティスエリアに展示されています。

そこで、地球の未来と生物多様性の項目でベストプラクティスに選ばれた「ごみゼロアプリ」について紹介します。

ごみゼロアプリとは、「ごみゼロ共創ネットワーク」の取り組みの一つです。「ごみゼロ共創ネットワーク」は、海洋プラスチックに代表される散乱ごみ問題に対して、国内外で解決に向けた共創を高めることで、新たな環境放流をなくし、大阪ブルーオーシャン・ビジョンを達成することを目標としており、地球環境ユースサミットの主催団体でもある「京都超SDGsコンソーシアム」が事務局を担っています。アプリは、清掃活動を可視化し、より多くの人が参加するよう促すことで、地域社会全体の環境意識を高めるために開発されました。

私自身アプリを使ってみて、ごみ拾いのボランティアに参加している感覚でした。「ごみ拾い」といえば、ボランティア活動のこと、普段からやるものではないというイメージがあるかもしれません。ですが、このアプリはそんなイメージを壊してくれるものだと感じました。ごみを入れる袋と、このアプリがあればいつでもごみ拾いをすることができます。また、１ヶ月に1〜2回程度、ごみ拾いのイベントがあり、自分が住んでいる地域からそのイベントに参加することができます。ごみ拾いの状況を共有することができるタイムラインという機能もあり、仲間意識が芽生えます。

そんなごみゼロアプリを使ってみんなで少しずつごみを減らしていきませんか？

Let’s clean up the city with the Zero Garbage App!

“Best Practices” is a programme that disseminates high-quality projects that solve important global issues. Projects that embody the theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, were selected as the Best Practices for the Expo and are displayed in the Best Practice Area.

I will introduce about the “GOMI Zero App” which was selected as a best practice in the future of the earth and biodiversity section.

Zero waste is one of the initiatives of the Zero Waste Co-Creation Network. The Zero Waste Co-Creation Network aims to eliminate new environmental discharges and achieve the Osaka Blue Ocean Vision by promoting collaboration in Japan and abroad to address the issue of marine plastic pollution. This app aims to raise environmental awareness in the entire community by visualizing cleanup activities and encouraging participation.

I used this app and felt as if I was participating in a volunteer trash pickup. When you think of "trash pickup," you probably consider it as a one-time volunteer activity, not something you do regularly. However, I felt this app breaks that image. With a trash bag and this app, you can pick up trash anytime. Also, there is a trash pickup event once or twice a month and you can find one in the area you live through the app. There is also a timeline function which allows you to share the status of your trash pickups, which creates a sense of friendship.

Why don't we all use the Zero Garbage App to reduce garbage little by little?
