門川大作京都市長よりメッセージをいただきました！



メッセージ

京都議定書誕生の地、SDGs未来都市、
そして全国に先駆けて「2050年ゼロ」を宣言した京都での
ユースサミットの御開催を、誠に意義深く存じます。

時代の転換点を迎える今、若者が夢を描ける豊かな社会の実現へ。
脱炭素や資源循環等の社会課題を解決するため、
立場や地域を越えた、あらゆる主体の果敢な取組が求められています。

そんな中、本サミットで生み出される動きが、
京都から世界へ、大きなうねりとなっていくことを願っています。

Message

It is truly meaningful to hold the Youth Summit in Kyoto, the birthplace of the Kyoto Protocol,
SDGs Future City, and the city that declared “Net-Zero by 2050” ahead of other municipalities in Japan.

Now that we are at a turning point in the times,
we will work toward the realization of a prosperous society where youths can build dreams.
In order to solve social issues such as decarbonization and resource recycling,
bold efforts by all entities, transcending standpoints and regions, are required.

Under such circumstances,
I hope that the movement created by this summit would become a big wave from Kyoto to the world.

門川 大作　京都市長（かどかわ だいさく）

１９５０年京都市に生まれる。京友禅など伝統産業のまちで育つ。
京都市教育長を経て、２００８年２月より第２６代京都市長に就任。
２０２０年２月、４選を果たす。
市長就任から、市民とともにまちづくりに地球温暖化対策の視点を据えて取り組み、
この約２０年間でごみの量は半分以下に、エネルギーの使用量を３１％削減。
２０１９年、京都市で開催されたＩＰＣＣ総会において、２０５０年ゼロ宣言を行い、
日本政府の方針となるなど、環境施策に積極的に取り組む。
現在、指定都市市長会副会長、イクレイ東アジア地域理事会議長、イクレイ日本理事、
世界気候エネルギー首長誓約／日本 運営委員会委員長、指定都市自然エネルギー協議会会長、
世界歴史都市連盟会長、世界文化遺産地域連携会議会長等を務める。
好きな言葉は「心を込めてすべてを大切に」。趣味は「人間浴」「仕事を楽しむ」。

Daisaku Kadokawa, Mayor of Kyoto

Kyoto Mayor Daisaku kadokawa is born in 1950 in Kyoto
and grew up in a town of traditional industries such as ‘Kyo-Yuzen (Dyeing Technique)’.
After serving as the Superintendent of the Kyoto City Board of Education,
he became the 26th Mayor of Kyoto in February 2008 and elected for a fourth term in February 2020.
Since taking office as mayor, the city has worked with citizens to focus on the perspective of global warming countermeasures in urban planning,
reducing the amount of waste by more than half and energy use by 30% over the past 20 years.
In 2019, at the IPCC General Assembly held in Kyoto City, the city made a declaration of zero emissions in 2050,
which is the policy of the Japanese Government, and is actively involved in environmental measures.
He is currently Vice President of the Mayors Association of Designated Cities,Member of ICLEI Japan Executive Board,
Chairperson of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy JAPAN Steering Committee,
Chairman of Renewable Energy Association of Ordinance-designated Cities, Chairperson of the League of Historical Cities,
and Chairperson of the World Cultural Heritage Regional Collaboration Council.
His favorite word is ‘Treasure everything with all your heart’. He likes observing people and enjoy his work as a hobby.
